St Mary’s College, Broome, is a co-educational K-12 school with a well-established history of education in the Kimberly. The school is over 100 years old and was one of the first in the region.
Catholic Education WA were rolling out a new digital initiative to their schools. As a result, St Mary’s College in Broome knew they needed help to migrate their servers to the new digital platform. However, their location would challenge them to find the support they needed.
Sam Baird, ICT Administrator, having heard about their reputation within the school system called to discuss their needs and immediately knew the school was in safe hands. The team were understanding, supportive and flexible, agreeing to spend a week on site during the Christmas Period while students were away.
With David and Michael’s help the whole school is benefiting from a faster and more efficient means of communication.
How We Helped
St Mary’s were undertaking a big digital transition as part of Catholic Education’s Leading Lights project, but their remote location meant getting the help they needed was a challenge. As experts in school ICT we immediately understood their dilemma and worked with Sam and the team to ensure the school’s servers would be migrated without student or teacher disruption.
As a remote school, we knew St Mary’s would need comprehensive support, on site and on call. Our school specialists, David and Michael, travelled to Broome while students and teachers were on holiday over the Christmas period.
Despite some unexpected environmental challenges, including cyclones and flooding, they successfully migrated all the school’s servers in time for the start of term.
